Starting September 1, 2026, the cost of the hybrid console will see an upward adjustment. Following recent price hikes implemented by competitors Microsoft and Sony to counteract inflation and rising manufacturing costs, Nintendo is now following suit with its next-generation hardware.
Despite robust software sales across both the original Nintendo Switch ecosystem and the new Nintendo Switch 2, the Kyoto-based company has issued an official notice confirming a price restructuring across multiple international markets, with South Korea being the latest region added to the list, facing a 17% increase.
The New Global Price Structure
The mass adjustment will take effect simultaneously across most of the targeted regions ahead of the holiday season:
| Region / Country | Previous Price | New Official Price | Effective Date |
| Japan | ¥49,980 JPY | ¥59,980 JPY | Already Active (May 25) |
| United States | $449.99 USD | $499.99 USD | September 1, 2026 |
| Canada | $629.99 CAD | $679.99 CAD | September 1, 2026 |
| Europe | €469.99 EUR | €499.99 EUR | September 1, 2026 |
| South Korea | ₩648,000 KRW | ₩758,000 KRW | September 1, 2026 |
According to official corporate statements, this decision is the result of a rigorous review of global business viability in response to recent shifts in the tech market environment, surging component costs, and currency fluctuations.
